Everhome Suites Is Quietly Taking Over Southern California (And We're Here For It)
By the ExtendedStayer team · June 2026 · 4 min read
Good news for anyone who's ever spent more than a week in a regular hotel and thought, "There has to be a better way to live than this": Choice Hotels' newest extended-stay brand, Everhome Suites, is multiplying across California like it has somewhere to be.
Three brand-new properties are under construction right now, with six more in various stages of development across Southern California. For a segment where demand currently runs at double the available supply, this is roughly the equivalent of finding out your favorite restaurant is opening nine more locations down the street.
The Three Under Construction
Here's what's actively rising out of the dirt, all slated to open in late 2024 and early 2025:
- Everhome Suites Temecula — 4 stories, 120 rooms, at 27165 Madison Avenue. Wine country adjacent. We see you, weekenders extending into Monday.
- Everhome Suites Ontario — 4 stories, 113 rooms, at 1820 G Street. Logistics hub of the Inland Empire — perfect for project crews, contractors, and anyone who pronounces "I-10" with feeling.
- Everhome Suites San Bernardino — 4 stories, 114 rooms, at 898 Harriman Place. One of the most underserved extended-stay markets in the state. About time.
All three are being developed by Paladin Equity Capital, the same crew that launched the very first Everhome Suites in Corona back in 2022. That one's been open a year, hit its stride, and apparently convinced everyone involved to just keep going.
Why California, Why Now
Extended-stay demand in SoCal is genuinely bonkers right now. You've got the infrastructure bill funding a thousand construction projects, the CHIPS Act pulling manufacturing back onshore, remote workers turning "a quick trip" into "actually, six weeks," and the whole bleisure (business + leisure, we're sorry) thing showing no signs of slowing down.
Translation: a lot of people need a place to live for 2–12 weeks that isn't an Airbnb run by someone's cousin, and isn't a regular hotel where the "kitchen" is a coffee maker and bad decisions.
What To Expect When You Check In
Everhome Suites is Choice Hotels' first new-construction midscale extended-stay brand in nearly a decade — and they used the time well. Every suite is built around the idea that you should be able to actually live there, not just survive there. Here's the lineup:
- Fully equipped kitchens — full-size fridge, dishwasher, stovetop, microwave, real cookware, real flatware, real counter space. Not a "kitchenette." A kitchen.
- Spa-style bathrooms with actually nice fixtures (yes, this matters when you're brushing your teeth there for a month).
- Big closets and tons of storage — because nobody wants to live out of a suitcase past day four.
- Movable workstations and customizable "me" spaces, so your Zoom-call corner doesn't have to be the same square foot you sleep in.
- Select premium one-bedroom suites with in-room washer and dryer. Game changer.
- 24/7 Homebase Market — self-serve, tech-enabled mini-store with food, drinks, and groceries for the inevitable 11pm "I need a frozen burrito" moment.
- 24/7 fitness center with Peloton bikes and real strength equipment.
- 24/7 guest laundry, free Wi-Fi, pet-friendly options, and weekly housekeeping.
The Bigger Picture
Choice's overall extended-stay pipeline grew 12% year over year, with new openings up 38% in the first three quarters of 2023. Everhome Suites alone has 60 properties in the pipeline, on top of 250+ across MainStay Suites, Suburban Studios, and WoodSpring Suites.
For travelers, that means more options, more competition, and — if you know how to negotiate — better rates. For California specifically, it means the painful gap between "I need to stay 30+ nights" and "everything decent is sold out at $200/night" is finally starting to close.
We'll take it.
